Element balance of the eight characters
Two different “elements” are quoted for a birth year. The Wood fate above is the traditional nayin (纳音) of the year pillar, which is what “Wood of the Willow” means in folk astrology. The colours and counts below come from the stem and branch of each pillar, which is the method used for a five-element reading.
- Wood 1
- Fire 2
- Earth 1
- Metal 1
- Water 3
Try another hour
Hour of birth changes the hour pillar, and after 23:00 it can move the day pillar too.
